This bachelor´s thesis is based on the architectural study made within studio work of subject AG033. The subject of the design is new mixed-use building in a gap site at historic centre of the Mikulov city, right below Mikulov castle and it´s castle walls. In terms of function, mixed-use building is used as an apartment building, which is divided into six apartments with size from 2+k to 4+1, including facility spaces. Next there are commerce services, which includes one commerce unit for rent, beerhouse with microbrewery, and wine bar, which uses existing wine cellar underneath the castle walls. In the back yard, there are located covered parking spaces for residents and commerce employees, which are accessible by passage. Mixed-use building is divided by architecture masses to multi-storey street section, which consist of two houses with different height, which are based on historic plots, and one-storey yard section. Street section is conceived as contemporary adaptation of traditional historic character of the city. Both houses of the street section have pitched roofs, made from ceramic roof tiles, with roof windows, which respects roof character of the Mikulov city. Facades are made of two coloured renders, which are divided by houses of the street section. Detailing of facades is made from coloured contrast lines, which are referring to traditional historical details. Yard section has flat green roofs, which helps to relieve mass from build-up area. Facades are made of brick strip tiling, which helps to fuse building with castle walls. The most prominent space is space of a wine bar, which is made on square floor plan, and it has big Czech vaulting with significant centre skylight. Whole design of mixed-use building connects city life in Mikulov city.

Polyfunctional zone MOŘICE okr. Prostějov
Orinčák, Denis ; Vojtová, Lea (referee) ; Dýr, Petr (advisor)
The topic of the diploma thesis is the Mořice Agricultural Business Cooperative. (Hereinafter referred to as ZOD Mořice). This topic is a continuation of the pre-diploma project ZOD Mořice -Vitčice area. ZOD Mořice owns 4 complexes of agricultural facilities. Mořice - Vitčice - Vrchoslavice- Pavlovice u Kojetína. The main concept consists of the division of operations into individual complexes, according to the analyses and ideas of the investor. Vrchoslavice - livestock production (existing, not addressed). Pavlovice u Kojetína - business (proposal - lower years). Vitčice - housing for pensioners with limited mobility and independent pensioners (proposal -pre-diploma project). Mořice - architectural and urban planning study of the area, supplemented by housing units for workers and starter homes (proposal - diploma thesis). I am proposing to place silos and a biogas plant in the area and adding a building for recycling solar panels. The recycling operation will be in one of the existing warehouse buildings. I am also suggesting reserve areas for future use for the sale of homemade products. The most detailed part that is addressed in the thesis is the housing units. The housing units will be used, as service apartments and starter homes, possibly for housing for pensioners without mobility limitations. The concept follows the basic axis of existing buildings and streets. The design uses a housegarden relation. I am trying to preserve the structure of the village and not to create urban elements in it. The roofs are gabled. The facades made of brick strips are meant to make it clear that the houses are close to the industrial zone. I am separating the entire set of dwelling units from the agricultural area with a mound of earth that is on the site and has no other use.

Štamgastenství v současné kultuře hospod Autor práce: Marek Kroufek Vedoucí práce: Mgr. Jakub Grygar, PhD. Abstract This bachelor thesis concerns on 'the practice of being a pub regular' ("štamgastenství") as a particular cultural phenomenon and its role in contemporary pub culture. It summarises the evolution of pubs in the Czech context and explains a symbolical meaning of the place of pub in the construction of a Czech national identity. The thesis looks at pub as a public space from the perspective of the concept of the third place of an American urban sociologist Ray Oldenburg according to which for one's healthy functioning in society it is important to have got, beside of a home and a workplace, also the third place, a neutral ground, where one can experience informal public life. As claimed by this approach, the existence of the third places is crucial for an establishment of local community and cultivation of civil society. This thesis focuses on pub regulars as the group that makes the third place in the form of a pub alive and keeps it as such. The practical part of the thesis engages in a qualitative research using a method of ethnography on two selected Prague pubs in order to find out whether there is still a space for 'the practice of being a pub regular' in contemporary pub culture and how...

Mazáková, Tereza ; Zandlová, Markéta (advisor) ; Halbich, Marek (referee)
Title: 'I'm not a looser that lives only in this pub.' Bar ethnography Keywords: bar, alcohol, meaning, guests, norms, students, ambivalence. Abstract: Goals: to understand the meaning of bar visits and activities that take place in bars. Method: Qualitative research using the methods of participatory observations and semi- structured interviews. Conclusions: A bar is common place in which people choose to spend their free time. It is thought of as a place full of fun, consumption, and social interaction. It forms an important part of free time activities. Alternative free time activities are commonly connected to boredom and loneliness especially by individuals without stable social circles outside of bars. Evenings in bars tend to be stereotypical, especially for frequent visitors. The stereotypical environment is a source of much ambivalence. It carries many positive effects (such as stability, certainty, security, anticipation, and known environment) but can be also perceived negatively (boredom, stagnation). A bar is in the Czech cultural context regarded as an ordinary part of life of people maturing to adulthood. Feelings of inappropriateness can arise in case of a long transition to adulthood. This increases the range of ambivalences towards the bar environment as well as towards the activities...
